Stop Slicing Driver!!

This post will help you to learn what a slice is, how to stop it and some drills to stop slicing driver today.

How to stop slicing driver

  1. Neutral Grip

    Correct your grip. A neutral grip is key.

  2. Square Set-Up

    Correct your set up. Stand parallel to the target line with a slite spine lean towards your back foot.

  3. ClubPath

    You need to swing your clubhead on an in to out path. See draw set up video below.

  4. Club Face Position

    Your clubface should be delivered closed the path but open to the target at impact. See draw set up video below.

  5. A. Strike the ball with an upward angle of attack. See Drill.

Stop Slicing Driver

Neutral Grip

Correct your grip. A neutral grip is key.

Drill: Stand over the ball and make two gun shapes with your hands. Point both trigger fingers at the middle of you feet while shoulder width apart. Now, interlock or overlap your right pinky and left index finger. That’s a neutral grip.

Square Set-Up

Correct your set up. Stand parallel to the target line with a slite spine lean towards your back foot. Remeber, the line from the ball to the target is the target line. Your body line should run parallel to this don’t aim our feet at the pin as well. Your feet will aim to the side like a railway track.

Club Path Direction

Swing on an in to out club path. During you swing your club head should travel along this line. 35 mins past 12 with the club face aiming at the next step. See the ColourPath Golf draw set up video below.

Club Face Position

Your club face should be delivered closed the path but open to the target. At the point of impact, imagine your club face aiming at 2-3 min position on a clock in unison with the above step. See the ColourPath Golf Draw set up video below.

Angle of Attack

Angle of Attack. Strike the ball with an upward angle of attack.

Drill: Use an empty ball sleeve 2 inches away from the ball on the target side of the ball and try not to hit it after impacting the ball.
